NUPGE leadership activists discuss strategy and develop skills to confront the biggest challenge facing workers today: growing income equality.
Keene (30 Aug. 2012) - The exceptional skill and ability of labour activists was front and centre during the National Union of Public and General Employees' (NUPGE) 14th Annual Leadership Development School. The school held yearly at Elmhirst's Resort, on the north shore of Rice Lake, just outside Peterborough hosted activists from August 25 to August 31.

Ottawa (28 Aug. 2012) - The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) is mourning the loss of Greg Blanchard, one of its founding leaders and long-time activists.
"It is not the inexorable march of global economics alone, but rather choices – choices in public budgets, and in economic and social policy – that have failed to rein in the increasing income inequality distributed by the private market and aided in propelling us down this path."
Negotiations resume for NSGEU/NUPGE members at Northwood's Ivany House as strike countdown continues.

Community Health Service and Support workers have not had a wage increase since 2009. They are paid less than acute care workers with the same duties.
