Burnaby (08 Feb. 2012) - Unions representing 43,000 B.C. health care workers met with employers and government to begin negotiations for a new collective agreement yesterday.
“… no other essential services legislation is as devoid of access to independent, effective dispute resolution processes to address employer designations of essential service workers." - Justice Dennis Ball.
"On behalf of the 340,000 NUPGE members, we offer deepest condolences to the families of all the victims of this terrible accident," said James Clancy, NUPGE National President.
“We are ready to get to the bargaining table to negotiate collective agreements that reflect the value of the vital services our members provide to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.”
“Education is one of the most effective economic investments we can make in rural communities, but the B.C. government has failed to make post secondary education a priority,” says BCGEU President Darryl Walker.
