Newest OPSEU/NUPGE members employed by the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority are responsible for managing the impact of human activities, urban growth and rural activities on the region.
Toronto (03 Oct. 2014) — The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) welcomes its newest members from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA). On September 30, the Ontario Labour Relations Board affirmed that members chose OPSEU/NUPGE in a vote held on September 3.
Conservation workers vote for OPSEU/NUPGE as union to represent them
The NPCA serves approximately half a million people in the region of Niagara and in portions of the City of Hamilton and Haldimand county. The NPCA workers manage the impact of human activities, urban growth, and rural activities on the region.
OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas is proud that these new members chose OPSEU/NUPGE as their representative.
“These workers play a vital role in maintaining and preserving the natural beauty and habitats in the area, and ensuring that it isn't lost for future generations," said Thomas.
