Twice a year, Homeless Connects Edmonton and its service providers and volunteers host an event at the Shaw Conference Centre to help over 2000 guests create pathways out of homelessness.
Edmonton (23 March 2016) — The Social Justice Committee of the Health Science Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) is encouraging members to volunteer and make a difference in ending homelessness.
HSAA/NUPGE calls on members to help create pathways out of homelessness
Homeless Connect Edmonton is recruiting over 300 volunteers for the spring Homeless Connect that takes place on Sunday, May 15, at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton.
Homeless Connect is a one-day, broad-based, community- inspired initiative that provides free services to people experiencing homelessness or are at-risk of becoming homeless. Twice a year, Homeless Connect Edmonton brings together its service providers and volunteers at Edmonton's Shaw Conference Centre to help over 2000 guests create pathways out of homelessness.
Volunteers can register to work different shifts:
- morning (8:30 a.m. — 1:00 p.m,)
- afternoon (11:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.)
- all day (8:30 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.)
Volunteers may be asked to work as greeters, guides, at the registration tables, or providing assistance to the service providers.
