The future of child care in Ontario will depend on a movement of parents sharing their experiences.
Toronto (17 June 2013) – Families remain concerned about the growing difficulties around child care in Ontario. Licensed child care costs upwards of $40-$60 per day, per child and four out of five children are left out of licensed spaces. In many areas, there are long waiting lists for childcare subsidy.
Participate in OPSEU's survey on child care
It doesn't have to be this way, but the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) needs your help to change it.
The OPSEU Women’s Committee is partnering with the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care on a parent survey about child care options.
Take positive lessons from other provinces to improve cost and access
We know that childcare is good for children, families, and our economy. In Quebec, child care fees are just $7/day and in Manitoba they are no more than $20/day.
The future of childcare will depend on a movement of parents sharing their experiences.
