The conference will be a chance for community partners, policy makers, researchers, activists, survivors, and others to engage with the shelter sector.
Ottawa (21 Dec. 2017) — Women's Shelters Canada is hosting its first national conference from June 13 to June 15, 2018 in Ottawa.
This will be a unique opportunity for violence against women shelter and transition house workers to share and learn from their peers. It will also be a chance for community partners, policy makers, researchers, activists, survivors, and others to engage with the shelter sector. The conference will offer practical opportunities for learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration via workshops, panel presentations and forum discussions.
Proposals for presentations are being welcomed from inidividuals, groups, coalitions, networks, and teams. All submissions will be considered.
Women's Shelter Canada encourages the sharing of ideas, promising practices, research findings and stories at this national conference. Presentation formats include, but are not limited to: panels, workshops, moderated debates, artistic expressions, self-directed skills shares, or something completely different. Lived experience contributions are also welcome.
There will be a limited number of travel scholarships available.
