'This deal ensures that the skills and experience of the public service continue to provide good services at a good value in the coming years.' - Bob Bymoen.
Regina (6 April 2010) - The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees' Union (SGEU/NUPGE) has ratified a three-year agreement with the Public Service Commission (PSC) on behalf of its 10,000-member public service bargaining unit. The announcement was made over the weekend by the union.
"The tentative agreement, announced last month included wage increases of 1.5%, 2%, and 2% along with employment security." SGEU says. "With the public service a target of this government, SGEU’s top priority was to keep its members working."
Union president Bob Bymoen says the agreement is positive in a difficult bargaining environment.
“This deal ensures that the skills and experience of the public service continue to provide good services at a good value in the coming years.” Bymoen says.
