Long-term care workers, do you care about your health and safety conditions at work? If yes, participate in this new survey by SafeCare BC. Your input will make a difference.
Vancouver (22 Jan. 2014) – SafeCare BC is the new health and safety association for the long-term care sector in British Columbia. Safecare BC wants feedback from front-line care workers on occupational health and safety (OH&S) training.
Long-term care workers' input needed on occupational health and safety training
In consultation with stakeholders and unions, including the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU/NUPGE), the confidential survey includes a thorough assessment of OH&S training, education and resources available to the long-term care sector. The survey is being conducted by the independent firm Howegroup.
The goal of the short online survey is to get workers’ input on the method and types of OH&S training they feel is necessary to perform their jobs safely and effectively. The survey is assessing the OH&S training needs of all workers and is separate from the eight hours of education for OH&S committee members.
BCGEU/NUPGE encourages members in our long-term care (residential/extended care) worksites to complete the confidential survey. Participants will also be eligible to win one of two $50 gift cards for Indigo Books.
For more information, visit SafeCare BC or click here to email Howegroup representative Wynona Giannasi.
The survey will remain open until February 3, 2014.
