Moncton (24 August 2018) — Members of the New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) have been invited to attend and or take part in the upcoming Greater Moncton Pride Parade.
Join Moncton's Pride parade
The invitation was made by River of Pride, a non-profit organization for and by LGBTQ+ people, based in Moncton. Its mission is to guarantee the presence of the LGBTQ+ community in the South-East region of the province.
The parade is set for August 25, beginning at 1:30 p.m. It will travel from Foundry to Main to Downing to Assumption in downtown Moncton. The parade is part of Greater Moncton Pride Week which runs from August 18 – 25.
Labour has long history of supporting LGBTQ+ rights
“We’re thankful for the personal invitation to our members from River of Pride,” said Susie Proulx-Daigle, NBU President. “As a union we believe in inclusivity, and support the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and all workers’ in our province.”
The parade is free of charge, accessible, family-friendly, and open to all those who wish to celebrate Greater Moncton Pride Week.
