Revenue from public liquor sales funds quality public services: Say no to privatization!

Send a message to the new minister!

Why would anyone want to privatize Saskatchewan's public liquor stores?Regina (07 Aug. 2014) — In June, the Premier of Saskatchewan shuffled his cabinet, putting a new minister in charge of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).  Don McMorris, formerly the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, is now responsible for closing the SLGA stores in four small communities across the province.

Send a message to the Minister of Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority telling him to keep liquor sales public!

Not only is the Saskatchewan government closing four SLGA stores, it is also talking about full-scale privatization of liquor sales.

Anyone concerned about keeping the sale of alcohol in public hands needs to contact the government to ensure their voices are heard.

Revenue from liquor sales goes back into funding quality public services across the province

Revenue from public liquor stores helps fund services we all care about, like hospitals, schools, long-term care beds, and highways.  Public liquor stores earned $232 million for Saskatchewan people last year.

The public needs to speak up before SLGA stores are sold and an important source of public revenue disappears forever.
