PEIUPSE members ratify multiple collective agreements

PEIUPSE/NUPGE members at three workplaces will see improvements to the working conditions as they ratify collective agreements.

Charlottetown (12 Feb. 2016) — Members of the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) in three bargaining units have recently ratified new collective agreements.

First agreement for members employed at Lady Slipper Villa

PEIUPSE/NUPGE members employed at Lady Slipper Villa signed their first collective agreement on January 20, 2016.

Members negotiated a 1.5 per cent wage increase and 4 years retro pay.

Negotiations for additional wage increases will resume during the current one year agreement.

New collective agreement reached for PEIUPSE/NUPGE members at Community Connections

PEIUPSE/NUPGE members employed by Community Connections have worked hard to draft their first ever collective agreement.

Ratification kits will be distributed in February and an update will follow.

New agreement for members at Community Inclusions

A new collective agreement for PEIUPSE/NUPGE members employed by Community Inclusions will cover the period from 2015-2018. After rejecting a tentative deal in November, members voted again in December as some adjustments were made to wage figures. The result was that the members voted 78 per cent in favour. The deal is a 4 year term with an 8 per cent increase over the term. The final agreement also contains improved vacation and bereavement benefits.
