Robert Wright explores link between literacy and crime, health and injury.
Charlottetown (9 Sept. 2009) - The Prince Edward Island Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) is hosting a special event this week in co-operation with the P.E.I. Literacy Alliance.
Scheduled Wednesday at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, the event features Robert Wright, executive director of Nova Scotia's Child and Youth Strategy.
His presentation explores the link between literacy and levels of crime, health and injury in society.
The union's goal in supporting the event is to collaborate with the Island's justice, health and literacy groups to help create "better outcomes" for people and communities across the province.
