OPSEU members at Central West Specialized Developmental Services reach tentative agreement

OPSEU/NUPGE members negotiated improvements in two priority areas. 

Toronto (10 July 2015) — With the assistance of a conciliator, members of the Ontairio Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) who work at Central West Specialized Developmental Services (CWSDS) reached a tentative agreement.

A ratification vote is scheduled for July 22 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the CWDS premises in Oakville 

OPSEU/NUPGE members negotiate improvements to collective agreement

Once the agreement is ratified, OPSEU/NUPGE members will see a $1.04 per hour general wage increase  and a signing bonus of $150 for all employees. Vacation entitlements will increase for all grids and that includes seven weeks for employees with seniority of 25 plus years.  Shift premiums increase by $0.17. Part-time employees on contracts will also now receive benefits. The agreement will cover a two-year term.

OPSEU Local President Sue Walker said the increased wages and vacation entitltements were most important to the members. “We didn’t get everything, but we got the most important things we wanted.”
