Toronto (31 Aug. 2010) - The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) will hold a human rights conference Nov. 12-14 in Toronto.
The goal of the conference is to build community, commitment and capacity for human rights and equity work and to develop knowledge, tools and strategies to move equity work forward.
The conference is open to all OPSEU members regardless of their union experience. Members of equity-seeking groups are especially encouraged to apply. The conference will include a diverse group of participants.
OPSEU has long history of fighting for justice.
"Yet, workers continue to face discrimination based on gender, age, race, sexual orientation, disability and other factors unrelated to their work," the union says.
