Help build the momentum for an expanded CPP by contacting your Member of Parliament.
Ottawa (24 November 2010) – Last month James Clancy, National President of the National Union of Public and General Employees published a commentary on The top ten reasons to expand the Canada Pension Plan (CPP). Based on the positive response to the commentary, NUPGE has produced it into a pamphlet.

As noted in several media reports over the past several weeks, there appears to be growing consensus amongst the federal and provincial governments around the idea of expanding CPP.
Pension reform proposals will be discussed at the next meeting of Canada's finance ministers in Kananaskis, Alberta on December 19 and 20.
Expanding CPP is a sure way to provide our seniors with better prospects for a dignified and secure retirement. In that regard, the labour movement has a realistic, affordable and effective plan to rebuild and reform Canada's pension system. Help build the momentum for an expanded CPP leading up to the meeting of Canada’s Finance Ministers by contacting your Member of Parliament.
