If Negotiating Council recommends acceptance, votes could be counted by the end of July.
Halifax (10 July 2013) – Voting may be underway soon for members of the Nova Scotia civil service on a new contract.
Employer's offer to be considered by members
At the end of June, after a few improvements and adjustments, the bargaining committee for members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE), agreed that the employer's offer should be sent to the Bargaining Unit Negotiating Council for consideration.
The bargaining team is looking for a recommendation of acceptance.
If Negotiating Council recommends acceptance, voting could be concluded by end of July
If a recommendation is made for acceptance, NSGEU/NUPGE will send out information packages and ballots for a mail-in ratification vote.
Ballots are expected to be counted by the end of July.
