NSGEU/NUPGE members working for VON reach a tentative agreement with the employer.
Halifax (31 May 2012) - The bargaining committee for home support members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) has reached a tentative agreement with the Victoria Order of Nurses (VON). The union had requested the assistance of a conciliation officer in mid-May to help move negotiations forward.
The tentative contract contains one per cent wage increases for the 2010 and 2011 as well as improvements in the scheduling provisions, a major concern for home care workers.
NSGEU/NUPGE members will be reaching more details in the near future as well as information about the ratification vote.
