Bargaining team recommends acceptance of the tentative agreement, which includes a 9.5 per cent wage increase over five years.
Halifax (19 March 2013) – After four days of bargaining, a tentative of agreement has been reached by members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees (NSGEU/NUPGE) and the Evergreen Home for Special Care on February 27.
The five-year agreement includes pay increases on November 1st of each year as follows:
- 2010 – one per cent;
- 2011 – one per cent;
- 2012 – two per cent;
- 2013 – 2.5 per cent; and
- 2014 – three per cent.
The agreement also includes a number of other improvements which will be detailed in the document you will be receiving from the union.
The bargaining committee is recommending acceptance of this agreement. Information sessions will be held prior to the ratification vote on March 25 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Salon D, Old Orchard Inn, Wolfville.
This will be the opportunity to ask any questions and to cast your ballot.
