NSGEU/NUPGE members voted to accept new collective agreement.
Halifax (23 April 2013) – Members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) who work as support staff at Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial (CSAP), have voted overwhelmingly in favour of their tentative agreement.
“The bargaining committee and Chief Negotiator, Joël Michaud, worked diligently to reach a fair agreement with the employer for Local 72 members,” says Joan Jessome, NSGEU President. “This is how collective bargaining works.”
Highlights of the agreement include a three-year agreement beginning April 1, 2013 with wage increases of two per cent in year one, 2.5 per cent in year two and three per cent in year three.
There are 157 members in Local 72 who provide administrative, clerical, technical, library, and cafeteria services for CSAP.
