NSGEU members at Canadian Association of Community Living to vote on employer's final offer

Important meeting for NSGEU/NUPGE employed by Canadian Association of Community Living in Antigonish on November 25.

Halifax (25 Nov. 2013) - Negotiations reached an impass at the beginning of October for members of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) employed by the Canadian Association of Community LIving (CACL) in Antigonish. The union filed for conciliation on October 3rd and conciliation was held on November 19.

NSGEU/NUPGE members encourage workers to reject final offer by Canadian Association of Community LIving (Antigonish)

The employer has made a final offer, but the bargaining committee is recommending rejecting. The union will be holding an information session and vote on the employer’s final offer on Tuesday, November 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Claymore Inn in Antigonish.

Details of the final offer and the rationale behind rejecting the final offer will be explained during the information session.

Members are encouraged to attend meeting to hear more information and vote on offer

NSGEU President Joan Jessome and Director of Negotiations & Servicing, Robin Maclean, will be in attendance to review the final offer with the members.

Members with questions regarding the final offer need to contact a member of the bargaining committee.
