The NSGEU/NUPGE has been leading the charge to improve the psychological health and safety of workers in Nova Scotia since 2010.
Halifax (18 Nov. 2015) —The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) is looking to recruit new facilitators for its internationally recognized workplace anti-bullying program.
NSGEU/NUPGE leading the way in improving workplace psychological health and safety
The NSGEU Bully-Free Workplace Program is based on the principle that every worker deserves a safe and healthy workplace, both physically and psychologically, where they are treated with dignity and respect.
Mental health in the workplace is a huge occupational health and safety issue and the NSGEU/NUPGE has been leading the charge to improve the psychological health and safety of workers in Nova Scotia since 2010.
NSGEU/NUPGE facilitators receive specialized training using the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace
All NSGEU/NUPGE facilitators will receive training to deliver the popular and effective Bully-Free Workplaces Program in workplaces throughout Nova Scotia. They will also receive training in the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health & Safety in the Workplace. Training is ongoing and materials are kept current and up-to-date. This is a good opportunity for NSGEU/NUPGE members who wish to expand their experience in occupational health and safety training and adult education.
Over 14,000 Nova Scotians have taken the program since its launch. Although this is an impressive number, the program has only reached approximately 25 per cent of NSGEU/NUPGE members and the union is now asking for assistance in order to continue to grow and shift workplace culture.
NSGEU/NUPGE members can apply by filling out this form. The deadline for applications is December 4.
