Members are encouraged to attend the information session on December 7 to find out more about the conciliation process.
Halifax (04 Dec. 2012) - After six bargaining sessions between members of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees' Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) and Mount Saint Vincent University, negotiations have broken down. It became clear to the union negotiating committee that a settlement was not achievable at the table.
NSGEU/NUPGE has applied to the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education for the assistance of a conciliation officer to assist the parties in reaching an agreement.
Issues such as wages, hours of work, overtime and contracting out remain outstanding.
An information meeting is scheduled for December 7 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Room 112, Evaristus Hall, Mount Saint Vincent to update members on the state of negotiations and the conciliation process. All affected members are encouraged to attend.
