Fredericton (18 May 2016) — Several members of the New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) have headed to Fort McMurray, Alberta to help the community in the wake of the devastating wildfires.
NBU/NUPGE lending expertise to help Fort McMurray recover and rebuild
Four members of the Resource Services component traveled to the area as part of a team to help battle the fires. In addition, psychologists and social workers from the Specialized Health Care Professionals group are helping provide grief counseling and other services to members of the community.
Inspectors from the Technical Inspection component are going to Fort McMurray to aid with infrastructure inspections and water testing, among other duties.
Many ties to New Brunswick in Fort Mac

The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), of which NBU is a component, has donated close to $200,000 to help the communities recover from the wildfires.
