Twenty-six laid off employees returned to work as a result of negotiations.
Fredericton (16 May 2016) — Moosehead Brewery Workers Local 362, represented by the New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) and Moosehead Brewery have reached a new collective agreement.
The deal was signed on May 9 and will run until January 31, 2025.
Susie Proulx-Daigle, President of the NBU, said the new agreement resulted in 26 employees, who had been laid off in the fall of 2015, returning to work.
"The deal was signed Monday and they were back to work on Tuesday," Proulx-Daigle said. "I know everyone involved was happy with that outcome."
The two sides also worked together to ensure the pension plan is secure for years to come.
"Our members are happy with this deal," she said. "We see this as a win-win situation for both sides."
A total of 20 groups represented by the NBU/NUPGE have either reached a tentative agreement, ratified a deal or officially signed a new contract in the past 12 months.
