Ottawa (20 June 2013) – At its most recent convention in Ottawa, the National Union presented a Solidarity Award to an advocate who has been working on issues of importance to our union and our members.
Des Rosiers receives NUPGE Solidarity Award
This year’s recipient was Nathalie Des Rosiers, general counsel of the Civil Liberties Association and a board member with the Canadian Foundation for Labour Rights.
NUPGE has worked with Nathalie on many fronts. After the G20 and G8 summits in Toronto, she was instrumental in working with us to bring to light the mass violations of the basic human rights and civil liberties of Canadians during the summits.
An ally in the campaign against regressive attacks on labour and human rights
“Having such a strong, credible voice speaking out against the dangerous attacks on labour and human rights across the country by the Conservative government helps us build a public campaign against such regressive actions,” says James Clancy.
