Now represents all health professionals in three of four regional health boards.
St. John's (1 Dec. 2009) - The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE) has won a vote against the Association of Allied Health Professionals (AAHP) to represent health professionals employed with the Central Regional Health Authority (CRHA).
The vote resulted from an application by the authority for a single bargaining unit for health professionals. Previously, the authority negotiated agreements with two bargaining units.
“We are very pleased once again to be chosen as the union to represent health professionals," says NAPE president Carol Furlong. "We will make every effort to ensure there is a smooth transition for the former AAHP members.”
NAPE recently won a similar vote against AAHP to represent all health professionals employed by Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA). NAPE now represents all health professionals in three of four regional health boards.
