The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE) has reached a tentative agreement for workers at the Bay St. George Community Employment Corporation (CEC).
St. John's (19 Oct. 2010) - The fifty-one NAPE members employed at the Bay St. George Community Employment Corporation (CEC) work with clients with varying disabilities as they are being integrated into the workforce, providing support and a mentoring role.
The employees’ salary will increase from $12.51/hour to $15.19/hour over the term of the agreement.
The agreement will expire in June 2013.
"The services provided by these workers are essential to ensure employees with disabilities can be integrated into the workforce and into society in general," said NAPE president Carol Furlong.
"On behalf of our members, we are pleased this agreement could be reached without any disruption in service to both the clients and the businesses they serve," she added.
