Lengthy round of bargaining concludes with a collective agreement on par with that of other public sector workers.
St. John's (16 Dec. 2014) — Voting for the faculty bargaining unit at the College of the North Atlantic (CNA), who are members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE), has concluded. Votes took place province-wide last week.
NAPE/NUPGE members reach contract with improvements similar to contracts of other public sector workers
NAPE/NUPGE faculty members at CNA voted in favour of accepting the agreement. The agreement is based on the template agreement for other public sector workers.
“This has been a long and arduous round of bargaining,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong. “We will now work to get the agreement signed as quickly as possible.”
NAPE/NUPGE represents over 650 Faculty members at CNA across the province.
The new agreement is effective as of September 1, 2012, and is set to expire on August 31, 2016.
