NAPE members in 11 public sector bargaining units vote 83% to accept tentative agreements

"This round of bargaining has been long and arduous, so we are happy to reach this stage and see this overall result,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong.

St. John's (23 Oct. 2013) -  Voting for workers in 12 public sector bargaining units of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE) has concluded. Votes took place province-wide over the past three weeks.

Long and difficult bargaining process completed

Overall, members of the public sector bargaining units, representing over 17,000 workers across the province, voted 83 per cent in favour of accepting the agreement.

"This round of bargaining has been long and arduous, so we are happy to reach this stage and see this overall result,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong. “We will now work on getting the agreements signed as soon as possible.”
