“This is a positive development and one that we hope will lead to a resolution that will be acceptable to our locked out members.” — Jerry Earle, NAPE President
St. John's (27 Oct. 2017) — The bargaining team representing locked-out workers with the town of Paradise, who are members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE), will be returning to the bargaining table with representatives of the Town.
Returning to bargaining a hopeful sign for locked-out NAPE/NUPGE members
The teams are coming together at the request of a labour board conciliation officer who will assist with the bargaining process.
Workers with the town of Paradise have been locked out since October 23.
“This is a positive development and one that we hope will lead to a resolution that will be acceptable to our locked-out members,” said Jerry Earle, NAPE President. “We are willing to stay at the table as long as it takes to reach a deal. We are hopeful that the employer is equally as committed to finding a deal and ending the lockout, so our members can get back to providing the top quality services that the people of Paradise normally enjoy.”
Out of respect for the bargaining process, NAPE/NUPGE will not be making any further comment at this time.
