May 26 to June 1 is Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in Canada.
St. John's (27 May 2013) – The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE) represents over 250 emergency medical services (EMS) workers in Newfoundland and Labrador. The theme of EMS week 2013 is, “EMS: Health Care in Motion!”
When every second counts, EMS workers are there
“This week is a special time to recognize the life-saving work of the province’s emergency medical services professionals,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong. “The people of this province depend on these health care professionals in their greatest hour of need. When every second counts, these workers are the first on the scene to assess, treat, care, and transport.”
Celebrate vital role EMS workers play
“We ask that you join us in acknowledging the crucial role that EMS workers play in our health care system and the vital service they provide to the people of our province,” said Furlong.
