Tentative agreement reached for members at Brandon University.
Winnipeg (20 April 2012) - Members of the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) employed by Brandon University have reached a tentative four year agreement with management.
While there are a number of areas the bargaining committee would like to have seen management more willing to move on, they fully believe that this is the best agreement that can be presented to the members during this round of negotiations. Therefore the committee is recommending acceptance of this tentative agreement.
All Brandon University members will be receiving a ratification package in the mail shortly. The package includes highlights of the new agreement, ratification voting schedule, a ballot and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Two information sessions will be held on Wednesday., May 2 at the Brandon MGEU Office, 1665 Parker Blvd from 4:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and from 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Members will be able to vote, ask questions and learn more about the proposed contract at these meetings.
Members may vote by bringing in their ballot to one of the meetings and depositing it in a ballot box or they can vote by mail. All ballots mailed in must be received at the Winnipeg union office by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012.
