Improved working conditions in new agreement.
Winnipeg (19 Sept. 2018) — Members of the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) who work at Main Street Project, offering programming and services to help Winnipeg's homeless and most vulnerable build stability in their lives, ratified a new 3-year collective agreement agreement this week.
Improved working conditions in new agreement
The settlement concludes a long and often frustrating round of bargaining that was complicated by the announcement of Bill 28 wage freeze legislation and restructuring and layoffs at the agency.
Highlights of the agreement include improvements to vacation leave and a commitment to address wellness in the workplace.
