Join the Fairness Express at the Legislature to call for quality public services, tax fairness, good jobs and strong labour rights!
Winnipeg (31July 2014) — On Wednesday, August 6 the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) will be hosting Fairness Day at the Manitoba Legislature.
Fairness Express brings the message that "Fairness Works!" to the Legislature
The rich are getting richer and everyone else is getting left behind. It doesn’t have to be this way!
Thousands of conversations about income inequality are happening coast to coast on the Fairness Express as it travels on its national tour across the country. While in Manitoba, the big green bus will be stopping at the Manitoba Legislature.
Activists, union members, and anyone else who feels that income inequality is an issue worth talking about are invited to join MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky, Kevin Rebeck, President of the Manitoba Federation of Labour and Hassan Yussuff, President of the Canadian Labour Congress from noon to 1pm on August 6.
National tour continues across Canada
The Fairness Express has been traveling across Canada since September 2013 talking to people about why we need to have strong public services, tax fairness, good jobs and solid labour rights in order to combat rising income inequality. The Manitoba leg of the tour ends on August 11 but the tour continuese in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
