Second phase of ElephantTalk campaign profiles public services workers and their jobs
More than a dozen messages from members who work in public service jobs – from addictions counsellor to college instructor to fire ranger – are featured explaining what they do, and why it’s so important to Manitobans.
Through November and December, you can hear their first-hand accounts on radio stations throughout the province as they try to care for Manitobans and their province while facing budget cuts, growing waiting lists and staff shortages.

Complement to the All Together Now! campaign
Highlighting the value and importance of our public services and those who do the work is an important part of the National Union of Pubic and General Employees' (NUPGE) campaign, All Together Now!. Cutting back on public services and good jobs allows income inequality to continue to grow in our country. Those conditions, combined with restricting labour rights, an absence of tax fairness and a lack of a modern industrial strategy helps the gap between the wealthy and the rest of us widen. The ATN campaign is based on having conversations with Canadians everywhere to create more of an understanding about what is happening as well as provide solutions about how we can make a difference.
