Community workers negotiate wage increases, retroactive pay and improvements to allowances and leaves.
Winnipeg (07 March 2019) — Manitoba's government community workers, who provide hands-on, day-to-day assistance to Manitoba children, families and individuals who need support, ratified a new 2-year agreement in February.
New agreement brings improvements in working conditions
The workers are representated by the Manitoba Govenrment and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE).
Highlights of the agreement include wage increases in both years of the agreement, with retroactive pay for all current employees, and improvements to the remoteness allowance and bereavement leave.
MGEU/NUPGE members are encouraged to make sure the union has their most current contact information in order to receive a copy of their collective agreement.
