HSAA/NUPGE elections were held from February 17 until February 24.
Edmonton (12 March 2021) — Members of Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) voted in late February to elect 2 of their top executive officers.
Mike Parker was re-elected for the position of President and Leanne Alfaro as Vice-President. Alfaro replaces Trudy Thomson, who did not seek another term.
"Congratulations to Mike for his election," said Larry Brown, President of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), of which HSAA is a Component. "Mike has been a passionate advocate for health care professionals in Alberta, and for workers in all capacities at our National Executive Board. His leadership during this pandemic has been extraordinary and we appreciate his insight in our decision-making at the national level."
"I'd also like to congratulate Leanne on her new position as Vice-President of HSAA," said Brown. "Leanne has been a great activist in HSAA/NUPGE, and we look forward to collaborating on issues and projects in the future."
