'Funding cuts to health care services ... affect all of us and our families.'
Edmonton (11 Nov. 2009) - The Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) has launched its annual awareness campaign to remind the public of the vital services performed by the health care professionals it represents.
This year's month-long campaign will use two radio and billboard ads to speak to get its message across.
"The commencement of this year's campaign couldn't come at a better time," says Scott Pattison.
"Some of our members are feeling extremely anxious right now about their jobs - and their patients - as the Stelmach government continues to blunder forward with funding cuts to an already lean public health care system," he notes.
"Our union must continue to maintain a strong public profile while messaging Albertans about the important work that HSAA's 18,000 health care professionals undertake on their behalf each and every day.... Funding cuts to health care services aren't simply an issue for unions and private-interest groups. They affect all of us and our families."
The campaign continues into the first week of December and will be followed by a second phase of ads on Global TV stations in Edmonton and Calgary.
