Health science professionals in Alberta meet for two days to discuss upcoming challenges.
Edmonton (30 May 2012) - Members from across Alberta will be gathering on May 31 and June 1 for the Annual General Meeting of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE).
This meeting provides members with an opportunityy to discuss the successes they have had over the last year and strategize around the upcoming challenges within the province and nationally.
HSAA President Elisabeth Ballerman will welcome participants on May 31 kicking off the two-day meeting. Later there will be a presentation by the HSAA/NUPGE Champions 4 Pensions on the pension component of the All Together Now! campaign.
Members will hear from various guest speakers including Gil McGowan from the Alberta Federation of Labour, Winston Gereluk of the Alberta Labour History Institute and Jan Reimer of the Alberta Council of Women's Shelters.
On Friday, there will be a panel discussion about the state of health care in the province with representatives from Public Interest Alberta, Friends of Medicare and the Parkland Institute.
Renowned author and activist Judy Rebick is also featured as the AGM's keynote speaker.
