No more reimbursements for participating employees until after April 1.
Charlottetown (25 Jan. 2011) - For the first time since its inception the P.E.I. Health Development and Training Fund has run out of money before the end of the fiscal year.
The Prince Edward Island Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) says it will no longer be able to reimburse members for courses that are held or start before April 1.
"Beginning April 1 the fund will once again be available," the union notes in an advisory to members. "The funding for development and training is a benefit negotiated on your behalf as part of your collective agreement."
