Halifax (08 May 2018) — Members of Local 55 of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) Local 55, who work for the Workers' Compensation Board, have voted 83 per cent in favour of strike action to back their demands at the bargaining table.
The union and the employer enter the conciliation process with meetings on May 8 and May 9.
"This strike vote is motivated by a real concern for fair treatment by the employer as the WCB moves forward with a transformation of their operations," says Jason MacLean, NSGEU President.
