'We want a fair deal and we want it sooner rather than later.' - Brent Camilleri.
Vancouver (12 May 2010) - The Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) is urging its B.C. employer, the Community Social Services Employers’ Association (CSSEA), to begin bargaining this Thursday in Richmond.
The CSSBA expects the first meeting to establish a protocol agreement and set dates and locations for a full exchange of proposals for Community Living Services and General Services (CSS) collective agreements.
“Our members are anxious for us to begin the bargaining process on a new collective agreement,” says Brent Camilleri, spokesperson for the CSSBA. “We want a fair deal and we want it sooner rather than later.”
The CSSBA bargains on behalf of 15,000 unionized community social services workers. The British Columbia Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) is the lead union at the table.
