BCGEU members at Canada Line reach tentative agreement with Protrans BC

Following five days of mediation, and a strong strike vote, workers reached a tentative agreement with Protrans BC.

Vancouver (10 Feb. 2015) — Members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) who work on the Canada Line have reached a tentative agreement with Protrans BC. The settlement follows five days of mediation at the Labour Relations Board.

Tentative collective agreement reached at Protrans BC

Details of the tentative agreement will be presented to members, and ratification meetings will be held once dates and locations are confirmed.

The BCGEU/NUPGE represents about 150 workers at the Canada Line, which is privately operated by Protrans BC, and owned by SNC-Lavalin. In December 2014,  Canada Line workers voted 99 per cent in favour of strike action in the event that negotiations failed.
