The All Together Now! campaign has produced new resources to raise issues in the federal election.
Ottawa (08 July 2015) — This federal election is gearing up to a watershed moment, says James Clancy, National President of the National Union of Public and General Employees.
"Canadians are frustrated with the direction this federal government is taking us in," Clancy said. "Besides scandals and secrecy, we are seeing our most cherished values being ignored or demolished by this current government."
ATN federal election resources spark conversations on key issues in campaign
"People are looking for hopeful, forward-thinking alternatives that are based on the priorities of Canadians, on creating a better environment and economy so that everyone can succeed together," he said.
The All Together Now! campaign of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) has developed resources to help people navigate the issues that need to be discussed during the upcoming election.
The newly released handbills are easy to read and share with your friends, family, neighbours and co-workers. The material will help you ask questions of the candidates that come to your door, and when you ask questions at election debates in your community.
Conversations key to impacting federal election outcome
"You can use the handbills to develop conversations that will help influence how people will look at the issues in the federal election and move them to supporting a fairer country,"said Clancy.
"We need a federal government that takes our priorities seriously — creating good jobs, investing in quality public services, tackling tax fairness and respecting workers' rights. We need a government led by people who are in touch with the reality of the lives of the majority of Canadians, and who support giving everyone a fair shot at a better life," said Clancy.
"We need to have more people forcing these issues to the front of the debate. This is our opportunity and everyone has a role to play in this conversation," he said.
