NSGEU/NUPGE members at VON improve working conditions in new agreements.
Halifax (22 June 2012) - Client services members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) employed by the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) ratified a two-year collective agreement on June 18.
The agreement just reached had a term which ended on April 1, 2012. The union will be serving notice with the employer of its intention to begin new negotiations in the fall.
NSGEU/NUPGE health care members employed by VON reached a new collective agreement at the end of May. Members will receive wage increases of one per cent for each 2010 as well as 2011. The agreement also includes some improvements in the scheduling provisions.
